Original Paintings
I paint mainly in oil paint, and chalk pastel. My subject matter is generally landscape although I also paint the figure in landscape.
The oil paintings are painted on both stretched canvas and stretched belgian linen.
The pastels are painted on heavy duty pastel paper that resembles sand paper as it can hold more pigment (’tooth’) than normal, so allows for more layers of colour. The pastels are framed in timber and have a Matte board around them.
I am attracted to the tones and shapes in both sky and water. I also love open space, distance and the sublime colours of the morning and evening.
