Wineglass Bay

 

 

Description

On the East Coast of Tasmania near Freycinet Peninsular is this spectacular bay with its shoreline running in a perfect arc, hence the name of this bay. As well as the overall view I was drawn to the large boulders on the right, particularly with the shadows cast by the light above. The distance in the valley behind this rock outcrop gives a real sense of space between the foreground and background. I paid particular attention to the tones used to illustrate depth, for example the lighter tones of the hill behind the boulders give a strong impression of distance.
