Personal

Richard Paul Stanley was born in Warnambool, Victoria, in 1961 into a creative family – My father was a professional musician, my mother is an artist in her eighties and my brother is a working artist and gallery owner in Western Australia.

I studied Fine Art at Claremont School of Art in WA, as well as extensive TAFE education, earning several awards. I am the owner and operator of ‘Stanley’s Studio/Gallery’ in Cygnet, located in the Huon Valley of Tasmania, which I have run for over 15 years now..

I work in oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolours, glass, and produce and self publishes a series of limited edition prints, cards and bookmarks which are available throughout Tasmania. I am a professional leadlight and stained glass artist.

I also produce ‘Dichroic Glass Jewellery’ (Pendants, Earrings and Brooches.) which is sold throughout Australia, to over 20 Retail outlets, including Port Arthur Historic Site, Strahan Wild Rivers store, Parliament House Gift Shop in Canberra, The Gold Museum Sovereign Hill Ballarat Vic, to name a few.

I am an exhibiting member of the Australian Society of Marine Artists ( ASMA).
