Interest-free Art Loans

I’ve always believed that a painting should be lived with, not just admired from afar. Through the Tasmanian Government’s COLLECT Art Purchase Scheme, you can take home one of my original oil paintings today and pay it off over 12 months — completely interest-free.

How it works

• Choose your favourite painting from my online shop or visit the Cygnet gallery in person.
• Complete a short COLLECT application form, which I’ll provide.
• Once approved by Arts Tasmania, the painting is yours to take home or have delivered right away.

Who can apply

• You must be 18 or older and buying the artwork for your own enjoyment.
• You need to live in Australia and agree not to export the piece while the loan is active.
• You’ll need a bank account for monthly direct debits and no other active COLLECT loans.

Loan details

• Borrow between $1,000 and $8,500.
• Paintings priced from $250 up to $11,500 are eligible. If the artwork exceeds the loan amount, you simply cover the difference as a deposit.
• Repayments are split into 12 equal monthly instalments, automatically debited from your account.

Example

My oil painting Adamsons Peak Sunset, Tasmania is priced at $2,900. With the COLLECT scheme, you could take it home now and pay just over $240 per month — all without paying a cent in interest.

A quick note on repayments

If a monthly payment fails, a $25 fee applies. Any instalment overdue by more than five days will see the remaining balance accrue interest at 13% per annum. That said, you’re welcome to pay the loan off early without penalty at any time.
